Fitness, Purpose, and Life Without Alcohol
My top 5 for trading hangovers for your best life.
My Story
Fitness, Purpose, and Life Without Alcohol

I joined Jesse Carajette on the Stronger Weekly podcast, and we didn't waste any time. We got real about my 20s, living for the weekend, chasing status, and being the "king of partying."
It was a dead end.
I know many of you are doing Sober October, and you might be feeling that same "what's next?" question.
This isn't just about not drinking. It's about building a life you are fired up to live. You can't just wish for a different life; you have to build it.
If you only have 60 seconds, here are the 5 biggest takeaways from my journey.
Top 5
1. Replace Your Old Habits
Here's the key: I didn't just stop drinking. I threw my (obsessive) personality into something new: I hired a trainer and joined a triathlon club. I found a new community and a new purpose. Find a positive addiction—lifting, running, building—and go all-in.
2. Earn Your Dopamine
Alcohol is "cheap" dopamine. It feels good for a minute and comes with massive consequences. I learned to chase "earned" dopamine—the high from a brutal workout, the flow state on a mountain bike, the rush from a cold plunge. No hangovers, no regrets. Just results.
3. Your People Dictate Your Reality
My friend group changed. When my friends were partiers, I partied. When my friends became athletes, I became an athlete. The people you surround yourself with are your destiny. Our community is everything. Find people who are building, not coasting.
4. Consistency Over Everything
People ask me about the "best" workout. The best workout is the one you'll do consistently. I love CrossFit and mountain biking because they put me in a flow state and I'm still progressing. Find what challenges you, what you enjoy, and show up. Every day.
5. Build Your “Perfect Day”
I live my life by a list of "tiny wins"—daily actions that add up to a life of fulfillment. Mine include: "lift something heavy," "get outside for 60 minutes," and "create something." Stop waiting for the weekend. Start building your perfect day, today.

Podcast Recommendation
Stronger Weekly
My conversation was just one part of the episode. Jesse hosts Stronger Weekly for no-fluff health news, fitness insights, and motivation.
In this full episode, he also covers:
5 Health Headlines: The dangers of diet soda, NYC's lawsuit against Big Tech, and a study on how a dad's fitness benefits his kids.
His Take: Why to disconnect from the national news and engage locally.
The work starts the moment you get off the sidelines. Show up. Do the work. Build your tribe.
Stay relentless,
Eric
