Denver vs Austin and why I love both

Two cities, two speeds, same mission

Time for the location change!

Back to this backyard view in less than 3 weeks.

The last 7 months in Austin have been everything I could’ve asked for. Fast paced, opportunity filled, and built around community. It’s one of those places where if you show up with energy, things just start happening. Events every week, creators everywhere, and constant chances to meet people who are building something. It’s hard not to grow there.

My backyard in Austin will also be temporally missed :(

If you’re someone who thrives in motion, Austin is tough to beat. The group activities are unreal. The wellness scene is strong. And the cycling community honestly surprised me the most. Seeing over 1,100 people roll out together on a ride is wild. If you’re into running, HYROX, or just staying active, everything is right there.

But I’ve also learned something important.
More opportunity doesn’t always mean better balance.
That’s where Denver comes in.

What I love about Colorado is simple. Space. Views. And access to the kind of environment that slows you down in the best way possible. You’ve got world class mountains, desert landscapes, and some of my closest friends all in one place. The lifestyle naturally pulls you outside.

And then there’s mountain biking. Still my favorite thing to do. Nothing really compares.

Road trips out there are on another level too. You can wake up and be in places like Aspen, Salida, Leadville, Steamboat Springs, Fruita, or even Moab within a day. That kind of access changes how you live.

One thing I’ve definitely felt in Austin is my sleep slipping a bit. And that’s on me. When there’s always something going on, it’s easy to say yes to everything. Colorado gives me a chance to reset, slow things down, and be a little more intentional with how I spend my time.

Both cities have their place.

Austin pushes you.
Colorado grounds you.

Nothing is better than the balance of both.
